Whether choosing a new board off the peg or looking to get yourself a new custom shape there are a number of factors which you need to consider to ensure that that board is correct for you. The following pages will hopefully give you an insight into these factors and help you to understand just what really does go into producing that magic board...
First off the kitesurfer needs to consider his or her height, weight and ability. For instance, a larger built person will need a longer wider and thicker board to create more buoyancy and stability, a lightweight experienced kitesurfer will need a lot less volume throughout the board. Then as he progresses he can then scale down to a board which would suit his abilities and of course 'style' of kitesurfing.
